Plans for NRG:-) are progressing nicely...
Plans for our subcamp are progressing nicely and now we have our allocation list we know who is going to be with us and now Norjam has had life breathed into it! As you may know out theme is renewable energy and everything we do will be based on that theme. Our subcamp is split into five subsites named BIO, TURBINE, HYDRO, TIDAL and SOLAR and team are already known as the BIO-FOOLS (!). We had a team meeting on 27th Feb and all departments are working hard to ensure that things run smoothly to make to week as enjoyable as possible. Next time we meet photos will be taken of everyone so you can see who will be your team and who will be organising what. We are asking our contingents for some input of their own – they need to design their own banner, a gate for their site and everyone is being invited to design a poster promoting renewable energy and throughout the week there will be games, crafts and competitions for everyone to have a go at. On Sunday 2nd August at 7.30 will be holding a huge street party for all our contingents and hope everyone will come out and get to know each other and at the same time share some of their local food and drink with others. Other events during the week will include the opening ceremony on Saturday evening; a Scouts/Guides own service Sunday evening (before our street party) and the whole sub camp will be having a day off site on the Monday. While they are gone the team will welcome hundreds of Norfolk Cubs and Brownies so don’t think we are getting off lightly!Wednesday will be the Guide centenary day and will be doing our bit to help them celebrateand the closing ceremony is on Friday night and promises to finish with a fireworks display. We will post more updates as we get closer to the week and, whichever sub-camp you may be on, come and see us during the week and say Hello.
